Vietnam's export turnover to Australia increased by 42%

According to information from the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia, in the eight months from the beginning of 2022, two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Australia reached 10,969 billion USD, up 37.44% over the same period last year, especially Vietnam's exports to Australia increased 42% to 4.9 billion USD (in the 7 months from the beginning of the year, it increased by 39%).

Among the main export items of Vietnam, seafood increased by 49% to 247.6 million USD, wood and wood products increased by 23.99% to 135.4 million USD; confectionery increased by 50% to over 50 million USD; and iron and steel increased 232.92% to 142 million USD.

In the opposite direction, Vietnam's imports from Australia also increased by 34.75%, mainly input materials for domestic production such as coal, iron ore, metals, wheat, ect.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoa, Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia, to achieve the above impressive export turnover growth rate is thanks to Vietnam's goods becoming more and more abundant under reasonable management and promptly by the Government in the immediate aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
